- On May 20, 2025, volunteers gathered at the Great Neck Station Library to help create an academic and productive evening for the tutees. The members of ALYUS collaborated with the students and explored many subjects.
Baiyu Chen checked her tutee’s math homework, ensuring her work was thorough and accurate. Later, she aided another student with his math homework. Similarly, Rebecca Xu assisted a new Glen Head student with his arithmetic assignment, double-checking their answers throughout the process. She then helped another student with reading, which improved his comprehension skills. Another volunteer, Ivy Li, guided her tutee in English. They discussed typical words and phrases that may be used to perform habitual actions, such as shopping online and returning orders. Emma Ding spent the productive hour supporting her pupils with math subjects. Likewise, Benjamin Ko checked his tutee’s arithmetic homework and assisted them with their NoodleTools citations. Lastly, Linzi Yeung spent the hour reviewing a student’s English packet for grammatical and comprehension errors.
The pair collaborated to ensure that all questions were answered in complete sentences. Seven tutees attended the session, and all were extremely accomplished. They, like the volunteers, displayed dedication and motivation in their studies.
