At the April 26th monthly My PlayClub event, we celebrated the anniversary of the Ed Thompson Inclusive Park. At the start of the event, AYLUS Pearland proudly donated $2,000 to support the city’s second inclusive park, which is currently in the fundraising stage. Co-President Aila Jiang delivered a speech reflecting on AYLUS Pearland’s four-year journey of serving the special needs community and promoting inclusivity.
Jeff Webb, President of the Forever Parks Foundation of Pearland, and Mayor Kevin Cole also addressed the audience, recognizing AYLUS Pearland’s significant contributions to the community. Jeff Webb presented a letter of recognition to AYLUS Pearland, which was accepted by Co-Presidents Aila Jiang and Derek Zhu. Additionally, he presented a special letter of recognition to Tina Dong in honor of her leadership in fundraising efforts for the new inclusive park.
Throughout the rest of the event, more than 150 guests enjoyed a variety of activities, including a petting zoo, adaptive games, face painting, and arts and crafts. Resource booths from organizations such as the Texas ABA Center and the Light and Salt Association were also available to support families in need.
