On April 27, 2025, members of AYLUS Great Neck volunteered at Kings Point Park by picking up garbage. Volunteers split up into groups and picked up litter such as plastics, bottle caps or loose scraps scattered along hiking trails and around the park using gloves and garbage bags. The volunteers worked tirelessly, with few breaks, and ultimately left the park in a better and cleaner condition. By working together, the volunteers ensured that the park allowed a better experience for everyone.
The picking up of garbage also strengthened bonds within the community by showing how the community can come together to improve the environment around them. By picking up garbage, the volunteers helped provide an improved environment for visitors to enjoy and experience, and will continue to do so every week
