AYLUS Great Neck Branch Tutoring Week 11(4/8/25,4/10/25,4/12/25)

On April 8, 2025, the AYLUS Great Neck branch successfully held a volunteer activity in the station library from 4:30P.M.—5:30P.M .

At 4:30 PM, a group of dedicated volunteers gathered at the GN Station Library, ready to

contribute their time and skills to support local children and adults in their educational

journeys. The cozy atmosphere of the library quickly filled with the energy of learning,

laughter, and meaningful connections.

Baiyu Chen played a crucial role in supporting young learners, providing one-on-one

assistance with their math homework. With patience and clarity, Baiyu helped students work

through challenging problems, building their confidence and deepening their understanding

of key mathematical concepts. Meixin Ding showcased her versatility and passion for

teaching by taking on two important roles. She began the afternoon by helping children with

their math assignments, ensuring they had the support needed to stay on track. Later, she

shifted gears and turned her attention to adult learners—specifically Mandarin

speakers—guiding them through the process of reading English books. Her thoughtful and

bilingual approach made a significant impact on the adults striving to improve their English

literacy. Meanwhile, Anhang Lu contributed by reading English books aloud to groups of

children. Through expressive storytelling and engaging discussions, Anhang captured the

kids’ imaginations and encouraged a love for reading. His sessions not only supported

language development but also sparked curiosity and creativity among the young listeners.

Additionally, Ivy Li also volunteered her time and effort, helping organize learning materials

and offering support wherever it was needed.

Overall, the session was a heartwarming success. The volunteers’ dedication and teamwork

created a nurturing learning environment where everyone—children and adults alike—felt

encouraged and supported. Events like these not only strengthen academic skills but also

build a stronger, more connected community.

On April 10, 2025, the AYLUS Great Neck branch successfully held a volunteer activity in the station library from 4:30P.M.—5:30P.M. We were at the station library, where it was just the two of us that worked out perfectly since only one student arrived. He was very young, and picked out books for us to read together. We took turns flipping through the pages, reading aloud from the stories he had chosen, while the other person worked on their homework.
