On April 12th, 2025, five AYLUS volunteers helped out at the Special Needs Program at DCFC. Participants danced and sang to fun music. The teachers held a lesson about the importance of grit and respect for the others. This fostered unity among the volunteers and kids. Following the learning session, the kids took on a hands-on interactive project to make dog toys out of donated clothing to be donated later on to a local animal shelter. The dog toy cloth strips were cut and knotted beforehand by an AYLUS volunteer. This creative activity inspired teamwork and ended the program with an accomplished note. Many of the kids played with Legos that were collected and donated by AYLUS volunteers. The volunteers and kids alike seemed to enjoy the activity as it embraced creativity and brought fun to the program. Overall, the five AYLUS volunteers learned about the value of contributing to a meaningful cause and helping all members of the community.
