The AYLUS Morris Branch members have been actively collaborating with the Helping Hands nonprofit organization to support families in need by collecting shelf stable food donations. As part of their ongoing commitment to community service, the Morris Branch members organize a monthly food drive, ensuring that underprivileged families receive the essential nutrition they require. On March 9th afternoon, the dedicated volunteers successfully gathered 20 pounds of can food, dropped to helping hands family center in Presbyterian church.
Through teamwork and strategic planning, AYLUS members coordinate donation drives, reaching out to local businesses, community members, and peers to encourage contributions. They collect a variety of can food products, including canned Dairy Products, pureed fruits and vegetables, and cereals, which are then donated to Helping Hands for distribution. This partnership plays a vital role in addressing food insecurity and supporting families who struggle to afford basic necessities for their children.
By making this activity a monthly commitment, AYLUS Morris Branch members demonstrate their long-term dedication to making a positive impact. Their efforts not only provide essential food supplies but also raise awareness about the importance of community-driven initiatives in supporting those in need. Through consistent volunteer work, they foster a sense of responsibility, leadership, and empathy among young members, reinforcing the values of service and compassion.
This ongoing partnership with Helping Hands highlights the power of youth-led volunteerism in creating meaningful change. By continuing to collect baby food each month, AYLUS Morris Branch members are making a significant difference in the lives of many families, ensuring that infants receive the nourishment they need for healthy growth and development. Their unwavering commitment reflects the strength of collective action in addressing social challenges and supporting the well-being of the community.
