AYLUS Roslyn Helps the Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County at the Bayville Care Center (42nd) on March 2nd, 2025

On March 2nd, 2025 from 10:30 to 1:30 PM, Roslyn AYLUS joined the residents of CP Bayville group home for an afternoon of fun. CP Nassau provides a variety of programs and services to help individuals with cerebral palsy reach their full potential. These services include medical and primary care, therapy, education, and community integration programs.

Today, we enjoyed several rounds of Uno with the residents, who always look forward to playing card games with us. Some of the other residents made Easter and St Patrick’s Day decorations to hang up around the room. These included rabbit wind chimes, flower bouquets and eggs. In addition, we helped residents with coloring sheets. Finally, the residents decided they wanted to play with the Wii, a classic favorite. However, we couldn’t figure out how to work the Wii, so the residents decided to watch some TV instead. Residents and volunteers alike kicked back and enjoyed an hour of Garfield before the residents went to the dining room for lunch and residents headed home.

Volunteering at CP Nassau Bayville is always such a joyful experience. It brings us joy to be able to see these residents have fun. Our interactions and experiences with the residents deepens our understanding and ability to connect with more people. We hope to return soon to bring more smiles.
