On February 25th, the Great Neck AYLUS branch held another Tutoring session from 4:30 to 5:30.We were at the library and participated in a tutoring session where we helped four kids with their studies. Since we had more volunteers than needed, we divided ourselves and some volunteers decided to team up, with two people tutoring one child together, while others worked individually, either tutoring the kids or focusing on their own homework. More specifically, Kylie was working one-on-one with a child, focusing on improving their reading comprehension skills. Overall, it was a productive and collaborative effort to support the kids’ learning.

On Thursday February 27th, the Great Neck AYLUS branch held another Tutoring session from 4:30 to 5:30. The volunteers helped kids with their homework, and also supported the children through reading activities and learning new math topics. Xingzhi and Jason helped a child with his math homework. Summer and her brother helped a student with her curiosity in new math topics. Rebecca read books with a participant and helped with difficulties in understanding the meaning of some sections of the book. A few of the participants required guidance in English reading and pronunciation skills. Two of our volunteers (Isla and Zhaoyu) helped by reading with the participant and translating the words.

On Saturday, March 1, 2025, AYLUS Great Neck Branch hosted a tutoring session at The Great Neck Library Station branch from 3:00-4:00 PM. There were only two volunteers today. Perfect because there were also only two students! Summer helped a 4th grader with his homework for math and English. On the other hand, Jerry was teaching a 8th grader geometry. Overall, this was a successful session!
