On the afternoon of February 23, members of the AYLUS Morris Branch carried out their monthly donation to the Helping Hands Family Center, located at the Presbyterian Church. This month, their efforts resulted in the collection of 40 pounds of canned soups, crackers, and pasta, generously donated by local neighborhoods. In the days leading up to the donation, members went door-to-door and coordinated with community members to gather these essential food supplies. Their dedication to helping those in need was evident as they carefully sorted and packed the donations before delivering them to the church. Upon arrival, the volunteers unloaded the collected items, ensuring they were properly distributed for use by families relying on the Helping Hands Family Center for support. This initiative is part of the branch’s ongoing commitment to fighting food insecurity and providing relief to those facing economic hardships. By working together with the church and the family center, AYLUS members are making a tangible impact on the community, offering not just food but also hope and solidarity. Their monthly donation program demonstrates the power of youth-led service, showing that even small, consistent efforts can contribute to meaningful change. Beyond simply dropping off supplies, the volunteers also took time to engage with the church staff and learn more about how their contributions directly benefit the families in need. Their efforts serve as an inspiration for others to give back and participate in community service. As AYLUS Morris Branch continues its mission, their dedication to supporting local initiatives like the Helping Hands Family Center will help strengthen the bonds of the community and provide essential resources to those who need them most.
