In the afternoon of February 16, Pearland volunteers joined individuals with special needs from the LSA Special Needs Caring Center and Pearland My PlayClub for a special performance at the Lunar New Year Festival. The group rehearsed together just before taking the stage.
To open the performance, volunteers introduced the Youth-Led SMILE 4 Special Needs program and Pearland My PlayClub, highlighting their mission of inclusivity and advocacy. They also took the opportunity to promote the fundraising efforts for Pearland’s second inclusive park.
The performance was a resounding success! The group played “Happy” using bucket drums and handbells, accompanied by a lively dance. Their energy and enthusiasm captivated the audience, earning them a huge round of applause.
