Reported by Jerry Yang
The fourth online 3D modeling camp, hosted on 2/9/2025, was taught by Jerry Yang with assistance from Eric Huang from 11:00am to 12:30pm. Students in this class were reintroduced into fundamental Blender features such as selecting modes in edit mode, orthographic views, and edit mode tools like extruding, insetting, and loop cuts. They were also taught the importance of keeping things in one mesh and introduced to multiple window editing, which they used to create a hammer model with guidance from Jerry, before being introduced to their homework and first project, an animal 3D model. Additionally, Jerry spent one and a half hours making a PowerPoint presentation with 27 slides recapping previous topics, introducing new Blender features like multi-window editing, and showing examples of his own created examples of hammers, animals, and other 3D models.
Our branch members volunteered from 11:00 am to 12:30 am, contributing a total of 5 volunteer hours:
– Jerry Yang: 2 hours (curriculum design and class slideshow creation)
– Jerry Yang: 1.5 hours (teaching)
– Eric Huang: 1.5 hours (teaching)
