On Friday, 12/20/2024, two members of AYLUS taught students ranging from third to ninth grade various math topics at the Newtown Yardley Chinese School. Lucas Zhang (Event Leader) and Albert Chen participated, teaching from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Our volunteers taught two separate classes: one for younger students and another for older students. During the session, the older class, led by Lucas Zhang, participated in a mock Mathcounts Countdown Round with exciting chocolate prizes, while the younger class, taught by Albert Chen, competed to solve the sums of two arithmetic sequences.
All members enjoyed teaching and felt they provided students with valuable insight into the experience of participating in organized math competitions. They positively impacted young students in the community by offering advanced math instruction and review.
