Murrieta AYLUS Volunteers at Habitat for Humanity Inland Valley #29– ABWK Senior Home Painting Projects (12/14/2024)

Reported by HsinChen(Julie) Lu :

On December 14, 2024, the Murrieta AYLUS branch helped out with the Habitat for Humanity Inland Valley’s A Brush with Kindness Project. This is a low-cost exterior home repair program available to low-income homeowners impacted by age, disability, and family circumstances who struggle to maintain the exterior of their homes throughout the Inland Valley. The members arrived early on site to help set up before painting, setting up paper and tarps to prevent paint from staining the ground. After a quick demonstration and safety instructions from the overseers, the volunteers got to work, splitting up to find their own section of the house to paint. Halfway in, the volunteers were given a mandatory break where they were provided with coffee, drinks and snacks. After the exteriors of the house and shed were painted, the volunteers helped clean up the tarps and papers before leaving.
