The AYLUS Morris Branch recently led a successful food donation drive to combat food insecurity while supporting the local community. With dedication and teamwork, members actively reached out to residents, businesses, and schools, collecting various non-perishable food items such as canned goods, pasta, rice, and snacks. The drive showcased the community’s generosity, with an overwhelming response of contributions pouring in.
After carefully sorting and packaging the donations, on December 18th afternoon at 3 pm, the AYLUS members delivered 32 pounds of food to Chatham United Methodist Church, a trusted partner in distributing food to families and individuals in need. The church expressed heartfelt gratitude for the branch’s efforts, noting the significant impact these donations will have on the lives of many struggling with food insecurity.
This initiative is a testament to the values of the AYLUS Morris Branch—leadership, integrity, and compassion. Through their hard work, the members not only provided essential support to the community but also inspired others to join their mission of making a difference. The food donation drive is an example of how youth-led efforts can create meaningful change and foster a sense of hope and unity within the community.
