On November 23, our group of volunteers organized and performed a concert at the Stonemere Center in Frisco. Leading up to the event, our musicians and performers dedicated their free time after school to practice and rehearse, ensuring that each performance was of high quality.
Since the Center is a rehabilitation facility and many residents have limited mobility, six of our volunteers, along with their parents, arrived early to assist in safely transporting the residents in wheelchairs from their rooms to the dining room, where the concert was held. After the concert, these volunteers also helped escort the residents back to their rooms, ensuring they were safely returned.
The concert itself was a great success, and we were pleasantly surprised by the positive reaction from the audience. The residents were not only engaged but also impressed by the high level of performance. We showcased a wide range of musical talents, including piano, string, and woodwind performances, as well as a martial arts demonstration. The residents thoroughly enjoyed the show, and we were grateful for the opportunity to share our music and arts with them. It was heartwarming to see their smiles and hear their kind compliments.
Overall, the experience was a joy for both the performers and the residents, and we’re thankful for the chance to bring a little happiness to their day.
