AYLUS Syosset Branch Volunteers at CP Nassau Group Home on November 23rd, 2024

On November 23rd 2024, members from both Syosset and Roslyn visited a CP Nassau Group Home in Levittown to help out the residents in various activities.

The first activity was making thumb print cookies. The volunteers helped the residents with mixing in the ingredients like eggs, flour, sugar, butter and salt. We then waited for the cookies to bake in the oven. When the cookies were done, volunteers and residents helped add the jam onto the cookie. While waiting for the cookies to bake and cool, the residents were able to make holiday crafts for their loved ones, they also played games of Uno and Bingo. After the games, the residents enjoyed the freshly baked cookies. These activities were a great success because everyone was able to participate. The overall environment was inclusive, supportive and joyful.
