The AYLUS Birmingham Branch partnered with Grace Klein, an organization dedicated to sharing resources for the purpose of building relationships to ignite restoration of individuals, families, and communities. Grace Klein holds drive-thru sites to fight food insecurities and provides a variety of other resources for families, including baby products as well as school supplies for children. The organization also has community homes, where it hosts individuals in need of a place to stay and provides resources for them to thrive.
On November 23, AYLUS members assisted Grace Klein Community with their Feed BHM program- an initiative designed to rescue would-be food waste and end food insecurity in Alabama. Members assisted at the Morgan hub by cleaning the warehouse and community rooms, washing food containers, deconstructing and recycling, and organizing various spaces in the hub.
