Reported by: Elva Chen

On November 16th, from 1PM to 3PM, volunteers from the AYLUS Syosset and Roslyn visited a CP Nassau Group Home in Hicksville to help the residents with making holiday ornaments and playing fun games together. There were 6 volunteers who joined in, eager to help the residents and have a good time. The event started with a creative ornament-making activity. The volunteers brought a bunch of supplies like markers, stickers, gems and other craft materials. They showed the residents how to make different kinds of ornaments, helping them pick out materials and put everything together. Everyone got to be creative and make their own unique ornaments, which were bright, colorful, and perfect for the holidays. After the crafting, the volunteers and residents spent quality time together, playing games and chatting. Volunteers made sure everyone felt included, offering friendly encouragement and creating a warm and welcoming space.

Even though some activities needed a little adjusting for different skill levels, the volunteers were patient and supportive, making sure everyone had fun. It was a really rewarding experience for both the volunteers and the residents.

Volunteers (2 Hours):
Elva Chen, Koaton Li, Kingston Lu, Brian Li.
