AYLUS Roslyn Provides Food to Local Families Through NOSH Delivery! Food Pantry (20th) on August 13, 2024

On Tuesday, August 13th, from 9:00-1:00 pm, the AYLUS Roslyn Branch volunteered with Nosh Food Delivers, a non-profit organization that helps people facing food issues. They deliver fresh groceries to families every week, and hundreds of people come every week to pick up groceries for their families.

Today, first we packed groceries for delivery. Each bag had an eggplant, two cucumbers, a squash, and a tomato. After every box that we needed to fill was full, we placed them on the carts in a pill and took them outside under the tents. Secondly, we were organizing the cans and other grocery items to put on the shelves, putting the same type of food together. While sorting and packing foods, we also went outside to sort the boxes for recycling. We broke down the boxes into easier shapes to put them in boxes to organize, and the boxes made with harder cardboard were used to organize. After everything was sorted and put together, we helped people coming in to find the groceries that were needed.

As we gave our time to help others, we learned the importance of how small changes can make a big impact on others, and giving makes a world of difference. We were very grateful to have this great opportunity to work with NOSH!
