AYLUS Roslyn Provides Food to Local Families Through NOSH Delivery! Food Pantry (19th) on August 12, 2024

On Thursday, August 12th, from 9:00am to 1:00pm, AYLUS Roslyn volunteered with NOSH Delivers, a non-profit organization dedicated to eradicating food insecurity in the North Shore Community through the accumulation and distribution of food to those in need.

We started off by helping the staff pack some food. Each assortment contained a nutricious assemblage: a can of meat, a can of soybeans, a bag of rice, a bag of lentils, and a box of soup. After packing, we picked through vegetables to distinguish the fresh ones and led guests to choose from those fresh vegetables. We also organized the shelves and checked the expiration dates. Next, we decorated and prepared lunch bags. Finally, we helped clean up the cartons after the end.

This experience made us realize the difficulty and importance of helping the community. Although these jobs can be tedious and difficult, the thought of someone not having to go on with an empty stomach is more than rewarding enough to fuel our continued efforts to help better our community.

Participants include:

Nancy Sethi (4 hours), Charlotte Wu (4 hours), Yiyang Lei (4 hours), and Jinrui Lei (4 hours)
