In the afternoon of July 27, 2024, Pearland volunteers conducted a bucket drumming session for kids with special needs at GiGi’s Playhouse Sugarland. Nine children, aged 4-7, participated in the lesson along with their parents. This was the second bucket drumming lesson for kids at the Houston location. Volunteers began with a quick review of the basic sounds of bucket drumming and then led the “Green, Yellow, and Red” game to practice rhythm and stopping. The group then drummed along to a Disney song. Later, participants took turns leading a pattern while the others followed, with several kids taking turns as the leader. They all enjoyed the bucket drumming activities. After the lesson, the volunteers handed out stickers to the kids.
