On July 27th, 2024, Murrieta AYLUS helped with the A Brush with Kindness Project.
Arriving at the site early so they could beat the heat, the volunteers quickly started with taping off areas to paint and taping down brown paper in case paint spilled or dripped. Afterwards, they attended a brief safety meeting, before starting on one of the sides of the home. Splitting up the different elevations, the older volunteers worked closer to the roof, cutting around the windows, while the younger volunteers filled in at the bottom and covered the cracks where the wall ended. They then moved across to paint the outside of the stairs and other walls, reconvening at the back to paint behind some bushes. After taking a short break, they worked on taping off and painting various pillars, and as the project wrapped up, the volunteers helped fold the tarps and remove the tape and paper.
