On the evening of July 16th, 2024, the 7th AYLUS robotics class was hosted in the West
Pearland public library with 6 students and 5 AYLUS teachers attending it. The students
were split into 2 groups of 3 each and were given a Spike Prime set to use. The teachers
used their coding knowledge to teach the kids how to make and code a robot that could
solve a maze. During the class, the students made a robot and use SCRATCH program to
code a robot that could successfully complete the maze; using a color sensor that was
placed at the front of the bot, which allowed it to follow a line leading to the end of the maze.
To conclude, the event was a success as the students learned a lot about coding, using
sensors, troubleshoot to improve the robot, whilst applying what they learned from the
previous classes.
