Murrieta AYLUS Helps Local Food Bank (51st) (6/10/2024)

Reported by Adora Xiao :

On June 10, 2024, Murrieta AYLUS members helped their local food bank.
The volunteers quickly started with signing in, welcoming a new member, and getting started with cleaning. They wiped off multiple carts and scrubbed off debris, spraying cleaner onto the carts before wiping them down. The volunteers broke off into small groups, with some helping with mopping the dairy refrigerator and others continuing the scrubbing of the carts. The carts were then wiped dry and left outside to dry. The volunteers then turned to a large shipment of dairy that’d arrived, transferring the milks, juices, and yogurts into new crates and transferring them into the newly cleaned refrigerator. Afterwards, the volunteers took a short break, before returning to receive different shipments of goods from different sources. They unloaded boxes from vans and weighed the goods by category, before storing them into their fridges or pallets. Afterwards, the volunteers swept the area and brought the chairs, tables, and carts back inside.
