On Friday, June 7th, 2024, a group of AYLUS volunteers and competitive swimmers – Edwin,
Eddie, Ranbin and Andy – helped to teach and improve several children’s swimming techniques. This is the seventh lesson that is part of a 2 week long series. Eddie and Andy worked with Audrey on her freestyle kick, with her being able to kick to the other end of the pool and back without any assistance. Ranbin worked with Darren on his backstroke technique and butterfly kick while also helping Emma improve her breaststroke technique. Edwin worked with Kevin on his freestyle technique to make sure that he could implement his arms into the stroke a bit more. Eddie also helped Nolan with his freestyle technique, improving both his kicking and his strokes.
The lesson was an overall success with everyone having either improved or learned something new. The children enjoyed the lesson very much and were very energetic when it came to racing each other in a friendly competition after learning their new techniques.
