2024/2/4 Volunteers at Sunday Chinese School as teacher assistants and helpers
With the weekly Long Island Chinese School ongoing, AYLUS Dix Hills volunteers help facilitate and enhance learning for students and teachers. AYLUS partners with them to really ensure a beneficial learning environment and allows smoother teaching for teachers.
Some tasks include printing materials and classwork, grading homework packets, wiping the whiteboard, and wandering around the class to make sure all students are on task. These small tasks volunteers perform combine to help students learn Chinese the most efficient way possible.
Following these lessons, there were also cultural classes(chess, painting, instruments, etc.) provided and volunteers also used their knowledge and experience to assist in those classes.
