From September 1, 2023, to September 30, 2023, our AYLUS leaders promoted September’s Suicide Prevention Month by sending a mental health form to students from grades 5-12 for research.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 40,000 people have committed suicide yearly. Suicide is the second leading cause of death among people aged 10-24. This is a very tragic and horrific act and could affect many family members and friends.
To help raise awareness, AYLUS created a completely anonymous form for students regarding their mental health. The form will provide more data for school mental health resources so they can better understand students who are undergoing mental pressure.
