On Saturday, 10/14/23, members of the AYLUS Syosset branch attended the Cornell Cooperative Extension Nassau Farmers’ Market at Eisenhower Park. The farmers market provides a space for local and small business to sell their goods, as well as for residents to enjoy goods like fresh produce, bakery items, and homemade jam just to name a few.
The weather during the weekend was rainy and business was slower than usual at the farmers market. Syosset members of AYLUS set up tents, tables, chairs, poster boards, as well as informational pamphlets to educate others about the market. For the duration of the farmers market, volunteers helped out vendors with cleaning up stands and packing and loading equipment.
