On September 9th, the AYLUS Pearland branch provided free art lessons to the community kids at the Pearland West Library. The volunteers offered an interactive learning experience for kids of all ages who wanted to explore art.
This week, the students started a new drawing of Charlie Brown and Snoopy from the famous comic strip, Peanuts. Students were taught how to draw the characters and the background, using a reference as a guide. Once finished with the sketch, they were instructed to line their drawings with markers. After a brief break, the students continued to line and even started to color their drawings until the end of the class.
These classes were able to allow students to develop creativity and art skills. Additionally, it gave the students a chance to have social interaction with each other and draw with friends. Overall, it gave everyone time to just relax and make some art.
