On September 10, 2023, AYLUS Pearland Branch collaborated with the City of Pearland, T21 Family, and Light and Salt Association to host a highly successful event – My Play Club – at the recently inaugurated Ed Thompson Inclusive Playground. This event was meticulously planned with the primary objective of promoting inclusive play and establishing a vibrant and enjoyable environment for individuals with special needs.
The dedicated team of volunteers went above and beyond to curate a delightful array of activities tailored to the diverse interests of the children in attendance. From baseball games to face painting and temporary tattoos, there was no shortage of engaging pastimes for the youngsters. In the backdrop of a scorching summer afternoon, the volunteers also thoughtfully set up a refreshment stand, offering freshly made lemonade that proved to be a refreshing hit among both the children and their parents.
As a heartwarming conclusion to the event, each child had the opportunity to select a party favor to take home, leaving them with cherished memories of a day filled with laughter, camaraderie, and boundless fun. This collaborative effort not only showcased the spirit of community unity but also underlined the commitment to creating an inclusive and joyful space for all.
