In a collaborative effort with the Light and Salt Association, volunteers from the AYLUS Pearland Branch took an active role in supporting a saliva collection session aimed at Pearland residents who had enrolled in the All of Us research program. The purpose of the session was to facilitate the collection of saliva samples for the precision medicine research.
Volunteers played a significant role in ensuring the success of the saliva collection session through their dedicated efforts. They arrived early to assist in setting up the event area and organized the necessary devices and stations to ensure a smooth process for participants to fill out required forms.
Volunteers provided clear and friendly instructions to participants as they arrived. They addressed any questions or concerns participants had about the process and the forms. They were responsible for explaining the saliva collection procedures to the participants. Apart from explaining the procedures, volunteers also aided participants in accurately completing the required forms. This ensured that all necessary information was correctly recorded.
The event process was efficient and organized due to the careful setup and guidance provided by the volunteers. Participants felt at ease and well-informed, contributing to a positive experience for all involved.
The active engagement of AYLUS Pearland Branch volunteers showcased their commitment to community health and research endeavors.
