Murrieta AYLUS Helps Local Food Bank (26th) (8/09/2023)

Reported by Adora Xiao :

On Wednesday, August 9th, Murrieta AYLUS members lended a hand to the Community Mission of Hope food bank.
They began with unwrapping and moving crates of different canned foods. The plastic wrap was cut with knives and the boxes were stacked onto pallets, while others were stacked on the table. The volunteers began making an assembly line to fill boxes of foods while some stayed behind to finish opening and moving the cans. As some volunteers loaded different amounts of cans, others tore apart the containers holding the cans, and some reloaded the table with more crates of cans. After hundreds of boxes, the cans had been used.
After storing the cans away, the volunteers took a small break, before returning to fill more boxes, this time with nuts and beans. Bulk boxes of large bags of walnuts and different assortments of beans were opened and dumped into carts, before they were loaded into boxes carefully and stacked so they could be closed and sealed. After more boxes had been made and taped, the volunteers swept the floor for stray spilled beans, before congratulating each other for the hard work.
