On July 25, the dedicated members of Pearland AYLUS volunteered at the SMILE program organized by the Light and Salt Association. The event began with Zide Liu teaching students how to make origami frogs, with volunteers providing guidance as needed, followed by creative drawing on the finished pieces.
Next, William Sun conducted a valuable finance session, educating students about saving money, needs vs. wants, and the differences between credit and debit cards. The students engaged in budgeting challenges, empowering them to make informed financial decisions. A ukulele teacher then led a musical session, with volunteers assisting students in learning to play the instrument.
The day concluded with fun games and activities, fostering camaraderie and joy among all participants. The event was a memorable and enriching experience, showcasing the power of community and the positive impact of volunteering.
