Chapel Hill Branch Volunteers to Clean Up Mills Springs Greenway on June 24, 2023

On 6/24, members of AYLUS Chapel Hill picked up trash along Mills Spring Greenway. The Greenway is a trail in the town of Morrisville adopted by AYLUS and spans about 1 and a half miles. At the end of the pickup, members had collected around 4 bags, consisting mostly of plastic waste like water bottles and straws. This visit was AYLUS Chapel Hill’s second trash pickup event since the Greenway’s adoption, and based on the amount of trash seen, the next pickup event will be in around 3-4 months. Additionally, the branch expects to be able to offer new and exciting opportunities at the Greenway in the coming months, such as the installation of trash cans/benches or other projects related to trail upkeep.

Volunteers who participated in this activity are Ethan Li (1.5 hours), Nicholas Wang (1.5 hours), Kevin Lu (1.5 hours), Karen Lin (1.5 hours), Jack Xu (1.5 hours), Kevin Hu (1.5 hours), Andrew Xu (1.5 hours), Kayla Lin (1.5 hours), and Kasi Lin (1.5 hours).
