On June 13, members of the Pearland branch of AYLUS volunteered at the SMILE program held by the Light and Salt Association.
During the first half of the morning, Hosanna Spencer guided the students to create a color pencil drawing of a scenic beach. This activity not only involved drawing, but also coloring and shading to create a beautiful end result. In the second half of the morning, the students were taught the ukulele, and how to play individual strings.
After lunch, Erica Gao taught everyone how to make origami frogs that would jump when pressed down. To follow up with this activity, she played two Youtube videos explaining interesting facts about frogs to further enrich this activity.
