Reported by Jessica Lu
On June 16th, Murrieta AYLUS members went to STAT Horse Sanctuary to help out. When members arrived, they were taken to meet the new baby lamb that was 4 days old! Then, members grabbed some tools and started cleaning the goats’ pens. When the wheelbarrow was full, two members would go dump it out. After they finished, members gave the donkey, Yum-Yum, a scratch with rakes! Then, members moved on to the little animals’ pen. They would shovel out the dirty hay and poop, dump the wheelbarrow when it was full, and keep on working. Members repeated the process a few times until they were finished. Then they took a break by playing with the animals. After their break, members got rakes and started raking up the leaves in the clearing and around the chicken pen. When members finished, they admired their hard work and can’t wait to come back to see the baby lamb!
