Chapel Hill Branch Conducts Workshops for Local Division A Science Olympiad Team in April 2023

Throughout April, two volunteers from the AYLUS Chapel Hill branch, Kevin Hu and Vivian Zhang, dedicated their time and expertise to help a Division A Science Olympiad team called the “Atomic Ants” prepare for their regional competition. As coaches for the Codebusters and Rock Star events and advisors to the group, they provided guidance and support to the team members through workshops and additional help.

Weekly workshops were conducted to give team members access to a diverse range of resources. The volunteers shared their expertise by providing study materials, practice tests, and tips for effective time management and test-taking strategies. They also held mock competitions to simulate the real competition environment and give the team members a chance to practice their new skills.

The volunteers’ dedication to the Science Olympiad team went beyond the workshops. They made themselves available to answer any questions and offer support outside of the workshop hours, and they provided personalized coaching for individual team members who needed additional help.

As the Atomic Ants team prepares for their upcoming regional competition, the coaches from the AYLUS Chapel Hill branch hope that their contributions will have helped the team members achieve success in the regional competition on May 6th.
