Pearland Branch Hosted a Donation Drive to Families and an Orphanage in Mexico, April 16th, 2023

During March and April of 2023, AYLUS Pearland spearheaded a successful donation drive to support families and an orphanage in Mexico. The generosity of volunteers was overwhelming, as they contributed a range of much-needed items such as clothes, toys, children’s products, and cookware. In order to make the donation process as convenient as possible, the organizers established five drop-off locations.

Overall, an impressive 1755 items were collected and sorted, which included 352 items of adult clothing, 1314 children’s clothing items, 66 toys, 126 children’s products (such as strollers and car seats), and 16 pieces of cookware. Some of the donations were picked up by a group of church volunteers who regularly make trips to Mexico to distribute them to families in need. Other donations will be sent to a recently constructed orphanage in Matamoros. The volunteers at the orphanage have arranged to pick up the items in April, which will undoubtedly help improve the lives of the children living there.
