2023On March 30th, three members of the Alliance of Youth Leaders in the United States (AYLUS) visited UNC hospital to perform music for the
patients, including those at the Children’s hospital and the Cancer hospital. Siyu Liu, Yuanduo Li, and Olivia Li’s music had a profound impact on those who heard it.
One particular group of patients who were deeply touched were the children at the Cancer hospital. These young patients, who are battling some of the toughest illnesses imaginable, were lifted up by the beautiful music played by the AYLUS members. For a few brief moments, their worries and fears were forgotten, replaced by the soothing melodies of the violin.
The passing nurses and patients were also moved by the performance, and two patients even waited to talk to the performers afterwards. It was clear that the music had made a positive impact on their day, offering a small but meaningful respite from the challenges they were facing.
The dedication of these young musicians is truly admirable. Their commitment to making a difference in the lives of others is truly inspiring.
AYLUS that aims to cultivate leadership skills and promote community service among youth. Through their music, the AYLUS members were able to bring joy and comfort to those in need, and inspire others to make a positive impact in their own communities.
the performance at UNC hospital was a testament to the power of music and the impact that young people can have on their community. The AYLUS members’ performance at the Children’s hospital was especially heartwarming, as they brought comfort and joy to those who needed it most. We applaud their efforts and hope that their music will continue to inspire and uplift others.
