On Sunday from 1:30 pm-5:00 pm, the GreatNeck AYLUS branch helped out a school of the Chinese Cultural Association of Long Island.
Through this valuable experience, we were able to develop a better understanding of the diverse needs of Chinese learners, which will undoubtedly aid us in providing more effective and personalized support in the future. As teaching assistants, we recognize the importance of our role in maintaining a safe and supportive classroom environment and are committed to providing our full support to both the students and teachers alike. As teaching assistants, we fulfilled a wide range of duties, from administering positive reinforcement to young students with stickers to assisting teachers with paperwork and accompanying children to the restroom. In today’s class, we began by reviewing previously learned vocabulary, and then introduced new words, providing support in refining the children’s pronunciation. Additionally, we diligently assessed and corrected the children’s work, stepping in whenever they encountered difficulties. The teachers trusted us to ensure the students’ well-being and offer aid in their learning endeavors, particularly during instances when they were required to leave the classroom.
During the hour of Cultural Activities, we learned how to do a little bag. We help each other for doing it and also tried to make some special things based on the little bag. It was cool when it comes out!
