AYLUS Greater Triangle 3/26/2023 Volunteers Empower Children with Traditional Chinese Culture: Teaching Crafts, Language and Writing Skills

Volunteers teach children how to make arts and crafts. Through hands-on practice, children learn various techniques such as paper-cutting and crafting, enabling them to unleash their creativity while immersing themselves in traditional Chinese art forms. These craft activities not only develop their artistic ability, but also serve as a bridge to understand the cultural significance behind each art form.
In addition to handicrafts, the volunteers also introduced Chinese books to the children. By teaching them how to read Chinese books, children are exposed to Chinese literature and stories, develop an interest in the language, and deepen their understanding of Chinese culture. Through engaging storytelling sessions, the volunteers captured the children’s attention and stimulated their curiosity about traditional Chinese stories and legends.
