Greater Princeton AYLUS Light as a Feather Committees Bird Banding with Washington Crossing Audubon Society in 2022

Since May 2022, the Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA) Light as a Feather Committee members Ethan Xu and Charlotte Xu have taken part in the Birding Banding activities at Sourland preservation in Hopewell, New Jersey. 

Washington Crossing Audubon Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the enjoyment and protection of birds, wildlife, and the environment through education, research, and conservation. Washington Crossing Audubon supports several active research projects, including funding two bird monitoring sites here in central New Jersey and in the Central American country of Costa Rica. 

Washington Crossing Audubon Society organized such weekly activities, which are weather permitted, from May to November 2022, supervised by Hannah Suthers. This project restores grassland bird breeding habitat at the Cider Mill Grassland Preserve by overseeing native, warm-season grasses.

GPA Volunteers (4 hrs on each day of 5/22,  5/29,  6/5,  6/14,  6/24,  7/3,  7/10, 7/27, 8/7,  8/14,  8/21,  8/28,  9/4,  9/27, 10/9, 10/16, 10/30, 11/6, 11/13, 11/20): Ethan Xu, Charlotte Xu, Qian Wang, and more.
