Dr. Patricia Gao, MD is a Top Rated Pediatrics Specialist in Edison, NJ. Her office accepts new patients and telehealth appointments.
At Dr. Gao’s pediatrics office, our volunteer routine is to keep the offices and examination rooms clean and sanitary, check the vitals of patients, record vital information on the office computers, and help out in labeling vials of urine and blood samples. After each patient finishes in an examination room, we would need to change the paper on the examination seat and disinfect the chairs, door knobs, and anything patients touched. For patients coming in for wellness checks, we examine the height, weight, blood pressure, heartbeat, and eyesight of each patient. For sick patients, we ask about their sickness, their medical history, what they have done to deal with the illness, the severity of the symptoms, and how long their sickness has lasted. All the information is recorded on the office computers in the examination rooms. For the blood samples, we label each one with the name and birthdate of the patient. For urine samples, we used special equipment to siphon the urine into proper transportable containers. Today was a training day. There are so much more important activities in the future. However the patient line was extremely long and the work was nonstop for hours. It was also difficult to deal with toddlers who were not cooperative during testing.
Many thanks to the following GPA members, including Eric Li (7/2, 2 hrs), George Chen (7/2, 2 hrs), and more, promoted AYLUS among friends and recruited new memberships.
