In January, the Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA) students continued their In-Person Education Help Program as there are students who still look for tutoring classes to improve their academic skills in classes like math, science, writing or reading.
GPA member Annie Miao (1/20, 2 hrs) continued tutoring. This week, Annie continued tutoring in precalculus at her school. She helped her tutee review another past quiz about logarithms and went over an upcoming lesson about the unit circle.
On another week, Annie (1/28, 2 hrs) and her tutee continued working on trigonometry to go over what was being taught in class. They went over the unit circle, special triangles, the law of sines, and how to best memorize them.
GPA member Catherine Feng tutored a student in reading on Sunday (1/23) from 3:00 – 4:00 pm. The student read a book about prehistoric creatures, and we then discussed the contents and messages of the books.
Catherine tutored another student in reading on Sunday (1/23) from 4:00 – 5:00 pm. The student read two books about dinosaurs: one by Dr. Seuss, and another about fossils. We went over the pronunciation and meaning of the words they read before discussing the content of the books.
The program allows GPA members to provide reading, writing, speaking, communication, and more to their students across the country.
