AYLUS Pearland volunteered at Farmers Market on October 16th

On October 16th, AYLUS members volunteered for Old Pearland Farmers Market’s first
event at Independence Park. The farmers market offered 13 vendors that sold
everything from home-made candles, treats, and popcorn, to home-grown herbs,
spices, and chicken eggs.
The Old Pearland Farmers Market is an event aimed to benefit the community, farmers,
and consumers by keeping the community connected while also providing fresh local
produce, and homemade crafts. Buyers were able to purchase goods right from the
source and connect with vendors and other shoppers while enjoying the fall weather
and music.
To support the farmers market, Volunteers aided in setting up stalls, directing parking,
and picking up trash. From 7 am to 1 pm, AYLUS members ensured a safe and clean
environment for the vendors as well as shoppers. Volunteers answered questions about
the event and welcomed local shoppers to the market while making sure to follow social
distancing rules to protect others and themselves.
Old Pearland Farmers Market will continue to have markets every third Saturday of
each month from 9 am to 1 pm where communities can gather and buy fresh produce
and other goods from local vendors. AYLUS hopes to continue to assist the market and
help it grow into an important part of our community that all can enjoy.
