In the morning, two AYLUS members agreed to meet at the beach and to participate in a little bit of beach cleanup. We chose Rockaway beach because it was a public beach and so that we would find adequate amounts of material for us to clean up. During our cleanup session, we fund a wide variety of trash items in many curious places, like the perimeter of a construction yard (which we were allowed to go in) and right next to a trash can. The cleanup activities lasted for approximately an hour during which period we managed to find quite a lot of trash. We hope our activities contributed to a cleaner Rockaway beach for the public to enjoy!
The two members who participated in the event were Joanna Yang(1 hour) and Matthew Yang(1 hour).
