During the firth week of May, AYLUS San Diego Branch volunteers continued their Humanities Challenge Camp Program. The program allows volunteers to provide English/Chinese reading, writing, speaking, and communication to their students, and also to teach students history or foreign languages such as Spanish.
They had conversations over Zoom or Facetime, teaching students about topics they are interested in, such as movies, games, and school. Volunteers placed an emphasis on helping their students grow accustomed to speaking and writing in the taught language. Their language challenge camp activities included:

Haobin Cao taught Alice Yang Chinese for an hour and a half on Saturday, 5/29.
Mike Bai tutored Ben Guo and Eva Mather on Chinese on Saturday, 5/29, for one and a half hours.
Eric Lin tutored Linda Yang, Darren Cui, Edmond, Giulietta Wu, Ryan Gao, and Junpeng Zhao on English on Thursday, 5/27, for one and a half hours.
Meijia He tutored Linda Yang, Andrew Xu, Alice Xu, and Ella Cai on Spanish on Saturday, 5/29, for one and a half hours.
Ryan Hua tutored Eva Mather, Elaine Zhao, Gavin Chen, and Darren Cui on Saturday, 5/29, for one and a half hours.
In total, there were 22 participants in this event, with 5 volunteers.
