East Cobb Branch Partnered With Marietta Maker Station To Assemble Shield Mask XVI

On Saturday, September 12th, 2020, five members of AYLUS went to The Maker Station to assemble shield masks in a partnership with Atlanta Beats Covid (ABC). This organization aims to provide PPE to essential workers by creating face masks, face shields, and other materials.

At The Maker Station, members prepared materials for the masks and assembled them. Members took turns cutting foam pieces and elastic strips for the masks. The masks were then assembled, cleaned, and packaged by the members. Everyone rotated jobs to ensure that people wouldn’t get too tired from their tasks.

Members took breaks every once in a while, but kept working afterwards. They were enthusiastic about their work and were up to do new tasks assigned by the director. They worked hard because they knew the end results would help someone in need of these shield masks.

Attendance: Emily Sun (3 hours), Emilie Cam (3 hours), Cynthia Ruan (3 hours), Katherine Sha (3 hours), Kevin Shen (3 hours)
