From August 17th-21st, the AYLUS Cascade Branch opened its first online chemistry camp for kids in middle school. Many of these kids were incoming freshman who wanted to get a head start in chemistry before taking it as a course in September.
This course was led by one of our members who spent days preparing, promoting, and designing this course. Through five online Zoom classes, she covered concepts that would be typically taught in the first semester of a high school chemistry course such as: atomic structure, periodic trends, molar conversion, chemical bonding, intermolecular forces, chemical reactions, and more.
The AYLUS Cascade Region Branch will be holding its second online chemistry camp next week from August 24th-28th.
