Phoenix Branch Sorted Medical Supplies at “Project C.U.R.E.” on July 29th, 2019

On July 29, 2019 from 9 am to noon (3 hours), the Phoenix branch volunteered at Project C.U.R.E. which is a non-profit organization that delivers medical equipment and supplies to hospitals and clinics throughout the under-resourced world. On average, each week Project C.U.R.E. delivers three to five semi-truck sized containers packed with the medical equipment and supplies so desperately needed by local hospitals and clinics. Before Project C.U.R.E. ships these supplies out, they are sorted by volunteers.

Michelle Yu, Katherine Wei, and Grace Zhang, as well as some of our junior members including Audrey Zhang and Ethan Wei participated in this event. Throughout the 3-hour session, volunteers sorted medical equipment such as catheters, needles, drapes, plastic bins, syringes, surgical gloves, etc. Volunteers would sort these supplies into their respective groups with other supplies that are similar in use.

After our session concluded, we took a small tour of the warehouse where they prepare to ship all the supplies to a country in need.
